Read this to get what you want 💌

It’s Friday! 💃
There was a typo in the last newsletter. It said, “Will I take our jobs?” No, I will not. 😂
Will AI take our jobs? Read the last newsletter to find out. 👀
Let’s dive in. 🌊
You are one cold message away from everything you want. 💌
A job at that hot new AI company? An investor for your startup? A “yes” from that cute girl you matched with on Bumble?
A well-written cold message is the golden ticket. 🎫
What’s the secret? 🤫
You lucky duck, you. 🦆
Noah Kagan, AppSumo CEO (which does $100M ARR), spills the beans…

The Secret 6-Step Cold Email Framework
Flattery. Do you compliment them or stroke their ego a bit?
Benefit. How will this benefit them (not just you)? Do you spell it out, and is it a real benefit?
Credibility. How can YOU be the person the other person would enjoy meeting?
Call to action (aka the ask). Don’t ask for a 60-minute phone call but an appropriate digestible request.
Read it out loud. Read your email out loud with a timer. If it’s longer than a minute, cut it down.
Make it easy to say yes. It’s much easier for the other person to help when they see you’ve made a solid investment already — handwriting the note, researching, or just doing their work for them. If you’re emailing important people, do what you can in advance so they can forward your email or answer the questions quickly.
Lemme tell you. It works!
And… I say this as someone who has sent 15K+ cold LinkedIn InMails and averaged a 33% response rate.
Storytime.🍿

When I had the idea for this newsletter, I cold messaged:
5.4M+ LinkedIn followers, Wharton Professor, NYT Bestselling Author
CEO @ Recruiting Brainfood (30K+ newsletter subscribers)
1.3M+ LinkedIn followers, LinkedIn Top Voice, Hiring Expert
All three people responded!
Adam connected me with a professor friend of his. And… I met with Hung and Lou and had incredibly meaningful conversations.
I used the above framework to write the messages, which worked wonders. 🙌🏼
Here’s how to put the cherry on top. 🍒

The Cherry: 🍒
Send a detailed meeting agenda in advance (shows that you value the person’s time!) ⏰
Include specific ways you can help the person (for free). 📄
Follow up with the results you achieved after doing what the person recommended. Don't do this if you decide not to follow their advice.
Note: #1-3 are perfect for informational interviews and mentor meetings. It would be weird AF if you try this on Bumble. 😉
You may be surprised by #2
Here’s the thing…
Takers may go far in the short term but not in the long term.
In the words of Alex Hormozi, CEO of Acquisition.com, which generates $200M+ in yearly revenue:
People who help others (with zero expectation) experience higher levels of fulfillment, live longer, and make more money.

Dance break :)
