How to become a LinkedIn Top Voice 📣

Tips from a LinkedIn Top, Top Voice 🤴🏻

It’s finally time. The first AI Hiring Newsletter. 🎉

Grab that cozy blanket, your favorite snack, and the best spot on the couch. 🛋

Our first guest is…. (drum roll, please 🥁)

Paul Eder, PhD. He is the Unicorn of LinkedIn Top Voice badge holders and (to the best of our knowledge) has the most Top Voice badges on the platform.

Most people don’t even have one Top Voice Badge, and somehow Paul has 100+. LinkedIn even gave him the distinguished “Top, Top Voice.” We didn’t even know this was possible until we met him.

Mic drop. 🎤

Background: 💁🏻‍♂️

  • 13K+ LinkedIn followers and 100+ LinkedIn Top Voice Badges. Surprisingly, he’s on no other social platform. He loves how writing for LinkedIn helps him organize his thoughts.

  • PhD, PMP, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

  • His day job is leading a team of 20 tech professionals as a Senior Program Manager.

Here’s how to be famous like Paul and become a
LinkedIn Top Voice 📣

LinkedIn's blue "Top Voice" badge, awarded to ~300 people/yr.

Vs LinkedIn's gold "Top Community Voice,” awarded to ~6,000,000 people at a time, 2,500 per category.

Paul’s 3 tips to earn a Gold LinkedIn Top Voice Badge:

  1. Comment on Collaborative Articles in one topic area where you have experience.

  2. ~ ⅔ of my contributions get no engagement. The key is scaling. LinkedIn allows you 20 contributions max per day. Use them all. 15 will flop, but 5 will gain traction. The 5 that gain traction are the areas you double down on to get a badge.

  3. There’s no extra benefit to writing in more than one section within the same article. Also, write in the sections with no (or not many) respondents. The algorithm likes that.

How does an AI Top Voice use AI? 🤔

Note: This interview is more focused on AI + LinkedIn Top Voice than the majority of the guests we will feature.

What AI Tools do you use? What’s the #1 benefit and #1 problem?  🖥️

“I use ChatGPT, Claude, and Python. The #1 benefit is the speed of the result. The #1 problem is ensuring the accuracy of the result.”

What about AI excites you? 🤗 And… what terrifies you? 😳

“I was an AI skeptic. But then I saw the rapid text and picture generation capabilities. I am most excited by the ability to quickly build prototypes to address my artistic vision.”

What’s the #1 part of your job you’d like to automate? 🧐

“It would be great for AI capabilities in data analytics to be enhanced.”

Anything else you'd like to share?

“I became an AI 'expert' by using the tools available. It's that simple. Become a superuser, and people will seek you out for advice.”

Thank you, Paul, for your brilliant insights! We appreciate you.

And now let’s talk about you (yes, you! The person looking at this text).

You’ve had three cups of coffee and are knee-deep in stalking .NET Developer LinkedIn profiles while wearing your Old Navy sweats that deserve a home at the Goodwill.👖
